Data sources

TrafficoOra’s primary live source is CCISS – Centro Coordinamento Informazioni Sicurezza Stradale, part of Italy’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and the Italian National Access Point for road and traffic data.

Distribution channel

The primary channel is CCISS’s public RSS feed, listed by CCISS among its distribution channels. In our production checks on 20 September 2026 the feed produced 100 processed items, while TrafficoOra’s parser accepts up to 200. We did not find official CCISS documentation declaring a hard technical cap of 100, so the number shown is neither presented as a national total nor as a guaranteed feed limit. The CCISS homepage “latest traffic” list is used only as a fallback.

Reuse basis

CCISS’s National Access Point documentation describes road and traffic data as being made available for exchange and reuse by public or private users. TrafficoOra reuses only publicly distributed road and traffic notices, preserves attribution and links to the official source.

Classification

Each notice keeps its original CCISS text and is assigned to one navigation category: jams, incidents, breakdowns, closures, roadworks, hazards, weather or other. This category is a TrafficoOra navigation aid, not a replacement for the official text.

Current and planned notices

The RSS feed can include both current disruptions and planned future restrictions or events. A published notice is therefore not automatically presented as already active.

Webcams, maps and operator content

We have not verified an explicit licence allowing TrafficoOra to copy, proxy or embed motorway-operator webcam images. We therefore do not republish webcams, photographs, maps, map tiles, branding or editorial material from other providers without verified reuse rights or specific permission.

For a visual check, we link directly to the official Autostrade per l’Italia webcam service and its real-time traffic view; the images and interface remain on the operator’s website.

Limitations

The RSS feed is not presented as a guarantee that every event on every Italian road is included. No notice shown does not prove that a road is clear.
